FACT: African American
women are less likely than white women to survive 5 years
with breast cancer.
FACT: White women have a higher incidence of
breast cancer than African American Women.
FACT: Cervical cancer is completely preventable
with early screening.
FACT: If a woman has had more than 1 sexual
partner, her chance for cervical cancer greatly increases.
The Healthy Women Partnership is here to help uninsured women
receive screening services for Breast Cancer and Cervical
Cancer. The process is completely confidential, and there
is no cost to eligible women. Risk factors for breast cancer
include the following:

pregnant after the age of 30 |

Having
a mother or sister diagnosed with breast cancer |

Age |
If you are 35, have a baseline mammogram. Have your doctor
do yearly breast exams, and you should do monthly breast exams
on yourself. By age 40, these things should be done every
year.
