COLORECTAL AND
PROSTATE HEALTH
Colorectal
cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States.
Early detection and removal of colon growths (polyps) can actually
prevent colon cancer. Every person over 50 needs to learn about
the risk of colorectal cancer. A simple test that you can perform
yourself can be of real value in early detection and timely
treatment.
Our goal
is to assure that every person - especially those who are underinsured
- has access to education about colorectal cancer and the fecal
occult blood test (FOBT) - which research has proved, can help
save lives by detecting cancer early. Our initiative also seeks
out men over 50, to offer education on the signs and symptoms
of prostate cancer.
Knowing
the signs and doing the test are simple - but they can save
your life!
WHAT
ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?
You qualify for a free colorectal cancer test kit if you are
over 50, and have not completed an FOBT kit within a year.
