County Department of Aging and Long Term Care
 The
Office for the Aging was created in 1972 and became a designated
county department in 1973. We are one of over 650 Area Agencies
on Aging throughout the United States that have been developed
under the Older Americans Act.
Our office is part of a national aging network which promotes independence and self-sufficiency for older Americans and their families. The network is a contract between and among the federal, state, and local governments and its people. This office provides resources at the local level so that people in our community can develop programs and partnerships that help us all. The goal of these programs is to help seniors age together with independence, opportunity, and dignity. |
