Lower than desirable immunization rate
As is the case in most communities, by the time children are of school age, immunizations are in order. The real issue is that infants and toddlers are not being immunized in a timely manner. Tentative survey results reviewing the status of two-year-olds indicate that Chemung County immunization rates among members of this age group may be below the 51 percent national average.
